Job Purpose The Truck Driver position is responsible for transporting, delivering, and retrieving assorted construction and heavy equipment in a professional, safe, and timely manner. An individual in this role will operate both commercial and non-commercial vehicles. What you will do... Transport, deliver, and retrieve various construction materials and heavy equipmentOperate commercial and non-commercial vehiclesPerform DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsProperly maintain delivery documents for inspection upon requestSecure construction equipment and other loads using chaining, strapping, and binding in strict accordance with established DOT proceduresMaintain open communication with the Branch Manager and/or central dispatch regarding delivery schedules, delays, traffic conditions, weather, and other factorsActively participate in the Herc Rentals safety culture, always prioritizing the safety of peopleFollow all company procedures and protocolsBuild positive relationships with customersPerform additional duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience, or a valid CDLValid DOT medical cardTrailer towing or rollback experience preferredHauling experience preferredConstruction equipment operating experience preferred Skills Ability to operate large, heavy machineryCommercial driving skills for maneuvering at various speeds in difficult conditions, including heavy traffic, inclement weather, mountainous terrain, and tight loading dock areasKnowledge and understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsAbility to read and comprehend standard operating procedures, owner's manuals, and product/warning labelsCustomer service focused, with the ability to build strong customer relationshipsAbility to react to changing business needsAbility to read, type, and write as needed to complete documentationAbility to safely lift 50 pounds or more frequentlyAbility to work indoors and outdoors as requiredAbility to sit, stand, walk, and maintain balance for extended periodsAbility to perform repetitive tasks, including stretching, turning, twisting, and reaching overheadAbility to bend, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for extended periods Req #: 71359 Pay Range: $25-$28 per hour Please be advised that the actual salary offered for any position is subject to the company's sole discretion and may be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, location, and overall fit for the role.
