Safe and efficient transport and delivery of freight by operating (driving) tractor-trailer combinations
Hook and unhook trailers from the tractor or converter dollies, including pushing/pulling dollies into place and adjusting landing gear
Load and unload trailers, with or without assistance or mechanical equipment
Perform fueling tasks and inspect tractor, trailer, and equipment for defects before, during, and after trips using an automatic onboard recording device (AOBRD)
Check shipping papers to verify load nature and cargo securement; install additional blocking or load locks if required
Install and remove tire chains based on weather conditions
Drive truck to destination in compliance with Federal and State regulations (up to 10 hours interstate, 12 hours California intrastate, followed by 8 consecutive off-duty hours)
Maneuver vehicle in difficult conditions (heavy traffic, inclement weather, tight loading docks)
Ensure all shipping documentation (bills of lading, freight bills, weight tickets) is available for inspection, accompanies shipments, and is submitted to dispatch daily
Maintain records for compliance with State and Federal regulations (driver’s logs, fuel purchases, mileage records)
Report accidents, safety hazards, delays, or irregularities related to cargo pick-up/delivery
Punctuality and regular attendance
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Previous tractor-trailer driving experience with 48’ to 57’ dry vans or 42’ tanks (required for training position)
Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations in English
Working knowledge of vehicle safety systems, DOT/State regulations, and hazardous materials transportation
Availability for around-the-clock trips and extended periods away from home
Must meet U.S. Department of Transportation medical standards
Must pass a drug test and be subject to random alcohol/drug testing

Safe and legal operation of a commercial motor vehicle
Timely transportation of freight from origin to destination
Proper loading/unloading of freight to ensure safety and minimize damage risk
Accurate completion of paperwork related to truck operations and freight movements
Professional representation of the company and trucking industry

Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for up to 11 hours interstate or 16 hours California intrastate
Ability to shift a manual transmission and operate foot pedals
Occasional squatting, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, and balancing to handle freight and enter/exit the vehicle (cab floor 36–66 inches above ground)
Occasional pushing/pulling of up to 2,000 pounds on a dolly or cart, and up to 50 pounds of freight without mechanical aid
Frequent carrying of freight weighing 1–50 pounds for distances up to 50 feet
Frequent reaching for freight at waist level and occasionally above/below shoulder height
Ability to load/unload full trailers (up to 50,000 pounds), including moving 45-pound cases, balancing barrels, or stowing 50-pound cartons overhead
Ability to install/remove tire chains in inclement weather
Ability to stand for at least 40% of the day and walk for 20% on surfaces like concrete, wood, or metal (sometimes slippery/wet)
Ability to climb ladders safely and operate electronic logging devices (ELD)
Ability to hook/unhook commercial vehicle combinations, manually adjust landing gear, operate fifth-wheel release levers, and handle safety chains/cargo doors
Exposure to outdoor conditions (10%–30% of time), including temperature/weather extremes, irregular schedules, and traffic-related stress
30%–90% of on-duty time spent inside the truck, with exposure to noise, vibration, and fumes during fueling
