Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation of multiple loading racks consisting of a truck loading rack, rail rack, by performing loading/unloading activities.
  • Loaders will rotate into a work team of Bulk Loaders, to handle loading and unloading of railcars and tanker trucks.
  • Weigh loaded/unloaded cars and report discrepancies with load limits.
  • Perform Maintenance and repairs to locomotives.
  • Work all braking systems, manual and automatic unlimited number of times in an operating shift.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of railroad safety rules and regulators.
  • Capable of training and directing personnel when standing in for the rail service leadman.
  • Prepare switch list, lease cards, placarding requirements, and maintain records and files.
  • Direct CSXT Railroad personnel on the placement of incoming cars.
  • Possess knowledge of DOT/ARR rules and regulations pertaining to rail shipments.
  • Make switch point adjustments and evaluate operational condition of rail tracks.
  • Knowledge of car re-railers and the safety aspect of using them.
  • Perform reliability walk-through and assist in inspections.
  • Maintain proper safety awareness and follow plant safety procedures in all plant activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by supervisor.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time.
  • Special assignment duties and call out as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Experience in handling Liquid and Dry products for agricultural and industrial use, preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical and background check, as condition of employment.
