About the role
The RN, Triage at Chapters Health Team plays a crucial role in providing telephonic support to patients and families, ensuring they receive the care and information they need. This position is more than just a job; it's a mission to provide outstanding patient care and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Takes and manages phone calls, offering advice and education on patient needs.
- Ensures timely, courteous, and effective handling of all telephone inquiries related to Chapters Health System’s services.
- Promotes and clearly explains the benefits of Chapters Health System’s services to clients.
- Gathers necessary information and required documentation from various sources to ensure complete and accurate patient information.
- Enters data accurately into information tracking systems, including the EMR, and documents patient/family contact information.
- Assists in finding solutions to callers' questions and coordinates in-person visits when needed.
- Utilizes appropriate support/expert resources or personnel to resolve complex or difficult situations.
- Reports technical issues to leadership and resolves them within 30 minutes or reports to an IPU or Resource Center if unresolved.
- May be required to report to work during emergencies to ensure continuity of services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Florida or multi-state license to practice as an RN, and ability to obtain a multi-state license within 30 days of hire.
- One (1) year nursing experience, preferably in hospice or hospital settings.
- Ability to apply for and obtain an RN license in Washington D.C. within 30 days of hire.
- Previous experience working with an EMR/EHR system.
- Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written), with bi-lingual Spanish skills preferred.
- Excellent critical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong patient service skills, including information seeking/probing, listening, understanding, and responding.
- Proficiency in computer operations and MS Office software applications.
- Able to manage emotional stress and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to work shifts to accommodate extended hours of operation as scheduled.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $51.08 per hour.
