About the role
The Trenchless EIT/ Specialist will contribute to the Trenchless Program by:
- Utilizing experience and expertise to support engineering and design practices
- Carrying out site reconnaissance visits
- Developing a subsurface investigation program for determination of feasibility of construction
- Evaluating surface and subsurface conditions based on collected data and information
- Interface with the Team’s various discipline leads and production staff
- Communicating regularly with clients regarding project status and technical discussions
- Estimating quantities of materials used and disposed of
- Estimating installation loading and stress
- Auditing the application of trenchless technologies
- Performing calculations to determine carrier pipe and coating specifications
- Defining workspace requirements for applicable construction equipment
- Preparing and/or reviewing pertinent project documentation
- Interfacing with project team members outside of the Trenchless Team and other Company functions
- Preparing field engineering and as-built documents
- Concurring in the definition/updating of department standards and procedures
Responsibilities
The Trenchless EIT/ Specialist will be required to travel and support field-based assignments. Frequency and duration of travel will depend on workload. The expectation is that extensive travel may be required at any given time.
- Maintain a high level of quality in presenting field data
- Communicate regularly with clients and the Trenchless Services Team
- Monitor and report on daily activities
- Identify problematic conditions and provide recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related discipline
- Minimum two years of professional experience, including experience in consulting/engineering, and preferably with Horizontal Directional Drilling, microtunneling, and/or Direct Pipe®
- Experience in design and knowledge in trenchless construction methods
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Team-oriented with strong desire to be accountable and reliable for contributions
- Strong writing and computer skills, including proven experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, manage time and prioritize tasks appropriately and independently to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, while remaining in frequent communication with the rest of the team who are located in other offices around the country
- Experience working on projects in remote environments
Qualifications
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain, and C EIT designation and desire for pursuing PE credentials
- Bachelor's degree
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Knowledge of industry standards and governing codes relevant to various market sectors

Pay
Expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $75,000 - $85,000.
