About the role
This position is responsible for supporting daily nursery operations through hands-on horticultural work, plant care, inventory management, order fulfillment, and general nursery maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the care and maintenance of nursery stock, including trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal plant material.
- Water, fertilize, prune, and monitor plant health to ensure quality growing conditions.
- Pull, stage, and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Aid in receiving, unloading, and organizing incoming plant and nursery inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Support bulk material operations, including loading and assisting with deliveries of mulch, soil, rock, compost, and other landscape materials.
- Operate nursery equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain nursery grounds, greenhouses, growing areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Monitor and report plant health concerns, pest issues, or irrigation problems to management.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs, and horticultural practices is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
