About the role
As a Tree Climber on the General Tree Care Team, you’ll work outside visiting beautiful properties in the community, applying expertise in climbing, pruning, and safety to maintain and preserve the health of clients’ landscapes.
Daily focus is working together on a General Tree Care crew to provide high-quality tree care, including pruning, removals, cable bracing, and other tree-care tasks. You’ll safely operate equipment and deliver excellent service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform pruning, removals, cable bracing, and other tree-care tasks
- Safely operate chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and climbing equipment (ropes, saddle, ladders)
- Apply proper pruning practices for large shade trees and ornamentals
- Identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and understand their characteristics
- Climb trees without spurs and adhere to tree-care safety standards
- Communicate and apply all safety policies and procedures, including hazard tree identification
- Make proper pruning cuts, understanding branch collars and chainsaw operations
Requirements
- 6 months – 1 year minimum tree climbing experience
- Valid U.S. driver’s license to operate company vehicles (CDL A&B a plus or willingness to obtain)
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.
- Desire to work outdoors
