Tree Climber

About the Role

Join Joshua Tree Experts Denver North as our first Climber hire, playing a critical role in delivering safe, professional, high-quality tree care across residential and commercial properties. We're building a strong, respectful, safety-first operation in Denver North, and early team members will help set the standard for field operations. This is a hands-on co-leadership role focused on executing day-to-day tree care while working within Joshua Tree Experts' proven systems and standards. As part of our launch team, you'll help establish field standards, culture, and professionalism that define our reputation.

Tree Climbers work closely with Crew Leaders and Ground Crews to safely execute technical tree work, including removals, pruning, and rigging. You'll be part of a tight-knit crew with opportunities to build skills and take on greater responsibility over time. This is also a customer-facing role—climbers are often visible to homeowners during work and are expected to communicate professionally and represent the Joshua Tree Experts brand.

Responsibilities

• Perform climbing and rigging for pruning and removals
• Communicate clearly with Crew Leaders and ground crew
• Delegate tasks to Groundsmen as directed
• Maintain a professional appearance on job sites
• Interact respectfully with customers when on-site
• Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols
• Adhere to ANSI standards for tree care operations
• Assist with aerial lift operations when applicable

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of climbing, rigging, pruning, and removal experience; maximum of 4 years (we want climbers with room to grow)
• Strong understanding of safe climbing practices
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to perform physically demanding work at heights

Schedule

Work 40+ hours per week.

We invest in our climbers through paid training, classroom instruction, industry seminars, and support for certification testing and related expenses. As you grow your skills, you'll have opportunities to take on more advanced work and progress into Crew Leader or other senior field roles.
