Traveling Superintendent – Residential Construction

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring smooth planning, implementation, and completion
  • Manage high-volume, high-turnover renovations and new builds with uncompromising quality standards
  • Allocate resources effectively for assigned projects, ensuring proper staffing and material management
  • Supervise onsite personnel, including subcontractors, ensuring they meet project standards
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Negotiate with contractors to ensure reasonable costs and effective project management
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship, adhering to original plans and specifications
  • Maintain daily logs, weekly reports, and ensure all project documentation is up-to-date
  • Maintain strict project schedules and take proactive measures to meet deadlines

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in construction supervision with strong understanding of residential construction
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore) to streamline operations
  • Experience managing high-volume residential projects, including both renovations and new builds
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage diverse teams of personnel and subcontractors
  • Exceptional negotiation skills to ensure favorable contract terms and manage costs effectively
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on meeting project deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout North Carolina regularly to oversee projects
