Traveling Superintendent - MSG - Data Centers

About the Role

This position is a full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, including Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segments. The Superintendent leads, directs, and coordinates the work of subcontractors and/or Turner trade labor, ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality, and budget adherence. The role has supervisory responsibility for Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns, and trade labor.

Reports to: Project Superintendent, Project Manager, or Project Executive.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and make decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
• Coordinate work among assigned trades to promote seamless project operations.
• Resolve local issues regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, labor, equipment schedules, and other project matters.
• Manage the overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and/or Interns, including providing input on performance appraisals.
• Create schedules, determine work sequencing, and implement recovery strategies to maintain project timelines.
• Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers to address and resolve field issues.
• Manage the billing process, including Work In Place (WIP), monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
• Ensure work is installed in compliance with and conforms to approved contract documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of four years’ related experience or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, contract documents, and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EH&S applications.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

• Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, ladders, and navigate work areas under construction.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequent standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, talk, and hear (e.g., bells, whistles).

Work Environment

• Regularly works on-site at construction work sites exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
• Noise levels are usually moderate to very loud.
