Traveling Senior Mechanical Superintendent - MSG - Data Centers

About the Role

This position is a full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, including Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segments. The role involves leading, directing, and coordinating the execution of all field activities for Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) systems on schedule, safely, within budget, and to the quality specified by contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Act as the liaison with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, Turner staff, and owner’s representatives to resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Develop comprehensive schedules covering engineering, coordination, installation, start-up, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
• Create and use tools to monitor work progress against the project schedule.
• Evaluate and approve subcontractor monthly payment requisitions, ensuring alignment with remaining work and manpower requirements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the MEP team as a leader.
• Identify logistical or field issues for the MEP Coordination team to address during coordination efforts.
• Prepare scope of work documents for trades, defining responsibilities and temporary operations.
• Ensure work execution aligns with contract documents and approved submittals through collaboration with the MEP Engineer.
• Preplan field activities to ensure areas are ready for work.
• Monitor and control manpower allocations, prioritizing project needs and tracking progress.
• Develop solutions for conflicts between mechanical, electrical, and other trades.
• Co-lead the turnover process, including start-up, testing, commissioning, closeout, and turnover with the MEP Engineer.
• Inform field staff of difficult installation requirements in advance for proper planning.
• Co-develop and implement the quality control plan with the MEP Engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience relating to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems across various project types and their interrelationships.
• Business acumen to plan, manage, and execute duties with strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.
• Leadership attributes to foster a high-performing team.

Physical Demands

• Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction.
• Vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Use of hands to handle tools or controls, sit, talk, hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Regularly works on-site at construction sites exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
• Noise levels range from moderate to very loud.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $170,000.00 - $275,000.00 annualized, representing the company's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
