Traveling Safety Manager - CHST Required

Responsibilities

• Affirm and develop the project safety program.
• Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor representatives.
• Establish and conduct regular safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and project staff.
• Facilitate training for site personnel and ensure compliance with OSHA and Concrete Strategies standards.
• Review and maintain subcontractor safety programs.
• Ensure subcontractors designate safety representatives with proper authority.
• Conduct daily and weekly jobsite inspections, documenting safety violations and corrective actions.
• Notify and prepare written reports of any violations or unsafe practices.
• Stop any violation or unsafe acts immediately.
• Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control procedures.
• Investigate all incidents and generate proper reports.
• Maintain required safety records.
• Attend and brief on safety issues during monthly overview meetings and project staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• At least 3 years of safety experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in building construction.
• A working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification preferred.
• Computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
