Responsibilities
- Affirm and develop the project safety program.
- Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor representatives to establish safety procedures.
- Facilitate training for site personnel and ensure compliance with OSHA and Concrete Strategies standards.
- Review and approve each subcontractor's safety program to ensure it meets or exceeds project safety program requirements.
- Ensure each subcontractor designates a safety representative who is properly trained and has the authority to address safety issues.
- Conduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections, documenting safety violations and corrective actions.
- Notify subcontractors of any violations or unsafe practices and prepare written reports.
- Prepare and submit monthly overview safety meetings and attend project staff meetings to discuss safety issues.
- Investigate all incidents and generate proper reports.
- Maintain all required safety records.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control procedures.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- At least 3 years of safety experience in building construction or a combination of education and multiple years of experience.
- A working knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
- OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
