Traveling Safety Manager - CHST Required

Responsibilities

• Affirm and develop the project safety program.
• Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor representatives to establish safety procedures.
• Facilitate training for site personnel and ensure compliance with OSHA and Concrete Strategies standards.
• Review and approve each subcontractor's safety program to ensure it meets or exceeds project safety program requirements.
• Ensure each subcontractor designates a safety representative who is properly trained and has the authority to address safety issues.
• Conduct regular daily and weekly jobsite inspections, documenting safety violations and corrective actions.
• Notify subcontractors of any violations or unsafe practices and prepare written reports.
• Prepare and submit monthly overview safety meetings and attend project staff meetings to discuss safety issues.
• Investigate all incidents and generate proper reports.
• Maintain all required safety records.
• Assist the Project Superintendent in establishing and implementing fire prevention, evacuation, and fire control procedures.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• At least 3 years of safety experience in building construction or a combination of education and multiple years of experience.
• A working knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
