Traveling Project Manager – Mission Critical

Responsibilities

  • Manage mission-critical construction projects valued between $25M and $100M from preconstruction through completion.
  • Maintain responsibility for overall project performance, including schedule, budget, safety, and quality.
  • Lead key project meetings, including OAC, progress meetings, and monthly project reviews.
  • Participate in project budgeting and develop monthly cost and margin forecasts.
  • Monitor project costs, identify variances, and proactively address financial risks.
  • Manage owner and subcontractor pay applications and administer change management processes.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with owners, subcontractors, design teams, vendors, and field leadership.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, and material samples to ensure compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across diverse teams and organizational levels.
  • Provide clear direction, decisive problem-solving, and consistent communication across large project teams.
  • Mentor and manage Assistant Project Managers to support their development.
  • Partner closely with the Superintendent to align field and project management priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in construction.
  • At least 3+ years managing hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects.
  • Proven track record delivering complex projects between $25M and $100M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Strong understanding of construction phases, MEP systems, project sequencing, and mission-critical requirements.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and make effective decisions in fast-paced environments.

Experience

  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly to project sites across the United States.
  • Ability to temporarily relocate to project sites when project needs require.
  • Comfortable working in a national delivery model with multi-region project teams.
