Position Overview

The Project Manager III at Heatherwood Construction Company is responsible for leading high-profile, large-scale commercial construction projects while driving strategic outcomes for both the client and the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-profile projects with significant budgets and scopes (typically up to $20 million)
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor
  • Develop and implement strategic project plans to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction
  • Oversee all project financials, including advanced budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and profitability management
  • Drive project scheduling and execution to meet or exceed key milestones and performance targets
  • Lead contract strategy, negotiations, and complex issue resolution
  • Identify business development opportunities and support pursuit of new work with existing and prospective clients
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers I & II, and other junior staff to support team development
  • Influence best practices, process improvements, and operational excellence across the organization

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; 8–12+ years of experience in commercial construction project management; proven success delivering projects in the $10M–$20M range; demonstrated experience in mentoring teams and contributing to organizational growth
  • Skills & Competencies: Strategic planning and business development acumen; Advanced project financial management expertise; Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence across teams and the organization; Proficiency in Sage, TimberScan, and Procore Financial tools; Fluency in scheduling platforms, including MS Project and Procore; Exceptional client relationship management and communication skills; Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Certifications: Active membership and participation in a local non-profit or community organization (demonstrating leadership, community engagement, and network development)
