Traveling Operators- Heavy Civil Construction

Job Responsibilities

• Operate the Track Equipment in all phases of operations, during normal conditions, night conditions, adverse weather, and emergencies; including hand and foot controls
• Perform routine maintenance, and watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure working properly
• Exercise good judgment about the safety and health of you and others
• Accurately complete and understand the paperwork necessary for this job
• Be organized and able to execute verbal and written instructions
• Be able to work with others and also work independently on assigned tasks
• Maintain good housekeeping in equipment, transport vans, vehicles, and work area at all times

• Be dependable, and consistent about attendance and punctuality
• Willing and able to work extended hours, and possible nights and weekends as required

• Commit to supporting the team in achieving its production goals at any assigned task
• Maintain a professional attitude while learning each task and take constructive criticism as a motivation to learn

Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects
• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust
• May require extended work hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to meet project schedules
• Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required
• Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites

Total Rewards

• Hourly Wage: $25-$50 which varies based on Union, location, skills and experience

May require extended work hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to meet project schedules. Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required. Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites.
