Traveling Operators- Heavy Civil Construction
Job Responsibilities
- Operate the Track Equipment in all phases of operations, during normal conditions, night conditions, adverse weather, and emergencies; including hand and foot controls
- Perform routine maintenance, and watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure working properly
- Exercise good judgment about the safety and health of you and others
- Accurately complete and understand the paperwork necessary for this job
- Be organized and able to execute verbal and written instructions
- Be able to work with others and also work independently on assigned tasks
- Maintain good housekeeping in equipment, transport vans, vehicles, and work area at all times
Position Requirements
- Be committed to working safely and to wearing all of the required safety equipment
- Report any unsafe conditions or acts to your immediate supervisor
- Be able to read and understand Safety and Employment requirements
- Be dependable, and consistent about attendance and punctuality
- Willing and able to work extended hours, and possible nights and weekends as required
- Tolerate temperature extremes and changing job site conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
- Commit to helping achieve a 100% no-accident work area
- Commit to supporting the team in achieving its production goals at any assigned task
- Maintain a professional attitude while learning each task and take constructive criticism as a motivation to learn
Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust
- May require extended work hours, early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays to meet project schedules
- Frequent interaction with heavy equipment, moving machinery, traffic, and construction hazards; strict adherence to safety protocols is required
- Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all job sites
Total Rewards
- Hourly Wage: $25-$50 which varies based on Union, location, skills and experience
