Traveling Mechanical Superintendent

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise field installation of heavy mechanical systems and equipment on industrial construction sites.
- Direct rigging, setting, alignment, and anchoring of machinery such as compressors, pumps, conveyors, and robotic systems.
- Manage and schedule labor including millwrights, welders, pipefitters, and rigging crews.
- Cookordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet deadlines and maintain installation standards.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, submittals, and manufacturer installation guides.
- Enforce jobsite safety policies and lead toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Resolve field issues related to alignment, clearance, and system integration.
- Track productivity, maintain daily logs, and prepare look-ahead schedules.
- Participate in system start-ups, commissioning, and turnover procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of mechanical construction experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience with rigging, machinery alignment, and industrial system installation.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, mechanical safety standards, and hazard mitigation practices.
- Experience working in high-volume environments such as manufacturing plants, utilities, or refineries.
- Familiarity with field software like Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain).
- NCCCO rigging or crane certification is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively for long-term assignments.
- Being bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
