About the role

Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) is seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians to support our small-site integration package (Access Controls, Security, Fire, CCTV, Communications, etc.) Task Order installations. This position involves travel to sites for installation, testing, and client training of systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
  • Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
  • Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices. Comm room build-out.
  • Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
  • Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
  • Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
  • Following and maintaining proper safety practices.

Requirements

  • A Secret Clearance will be REQUIRED for this role.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in high places and in confined places.
  • Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites. Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required.
  • Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • BICSI Certification Desired.
  • 2+ years in a Tech Role.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging. Nurse Call, Sound Masking.

Skills

  • Adaptability to install multiple types of devices.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Schedule

Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory. Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • May require climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
  • Must possess the capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations. Will be required to operate in noisy environments with temperatures higher or lower than standard office conditions. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC/laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Equipment and Machines

  • General office equipment includes but is not limited to PCs/laptops, telephones, copiers, servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.
  • General field equipment includes but is not limited to hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial/motorized lifts, and test equipment.
  • This position may require the operation of motor vehicles as an essential job function. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. The ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly is crucial. Employees may be subject to periodic motor vehicle record checks, and any discrepancies may impact eligibility for the position.

Travel

  • Travel requirements will vary. Not all positions require travel.
  • A current passport is required for Overseas travel.
