About the role

This is a 3-month contract position located in Sapphire, North Carolina. We are looking for candidates ready to travel and work immediately. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of excellence in laundry operations.
  • Sort clean/dirty linen and place in designated bins.
  • Pre-treat stains according to color and/or type.
  • Remove damaged linens.
  • Operate washers/dryers appropriately and monitor/replace detergent and cleaning agents as needed.
  • Fold and distribute clean linens to proper storage or unit linen bags.
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines (e.g., lint traps, vents).
  • Assist in monthly linen inventory.
  • Report laundry maintenance issues to the manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry and storage areas.
  • Ensure a safe working environment at each site and office.
  • Perform all duties related to site operation as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency to distribute linens on time.
  • Be prompt with all assignments and appointments.
  • Use supplies and equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist in linen inventories and supplies as directed.
  • Assist in solving guest complaints promptly and create positive customer relations.
  • Willing and able to assist resort guests and owners, including making guest deliveries as directed.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizens or work-authorized individuals only (no visa sponsorship or foreign worker programs at this time).
  • Dependable and hardworking individuals seeking temporary employment.
  • Hospitality, cleaning, or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Ability to make decisions, plan, and schedule.
  • Ability to read, write, and do basic math.
  • Use of long-term and short-term memory.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of resort operations.
  • Passion for cleanliness.
  • Demonstrated motivational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and hands-on approach.
  • Ability to work irregular hours.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, moving, lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, reaching, occasional ascending/descending, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
  • Works in an operations environment with odors, dust, and cleaning/laundry chemicals.

Pay

$16.50/hour with weekly pay.
