Traveling Laborer Journeyman

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete assignments in a timely fashion with little supervision; ask for additional information when tasks or assignments are unclear and supports the daily plan
  • Understands the tank building process and can identify the next tasks to be completed in the process
  • Aids in checking grade and subgrade elevations using level or transit
  • Aids with the shoring erection, bracing, dismantling, and load out of shoring materials. Aids with assembling pipe and fabrication of forms for pipe pits
  • Loads out the tank including braces, shoring, etc.
  • Trains apprentices
  • Aids with shoring installation
  • Responsible for continuous site cleanup and organization
  • Follows safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies
  • Participates in the review of the task hazard analysis (THA)
  • Identifies safety hazards and participates in the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program
  • Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work
  • Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any quality defects immediately
  • Maintains all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs
  • Establishes and executes DN University training goals with assistance from the Field Operations Manager
  • Plans safety into each operation and identifies or removes hazards immediately as part of the task without being asked

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States at the direction of the Field Operations Manager
  • Owns and maintains general hand tools
  • Ability to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc
