About the role

As a Laborer at Pro-Vac, you will assist in the use of sophisticated vacuum excavation equipment and remote tools to complete hydro-excavation and cathodic protection. You will overcome unique challenges, work with a great team to create solutions that exceed our clients' expectations, and gain mentorship from our highly trained operators.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the use of sophisticated vacuum excavation equipment and remote tools to complete hydro-excavation and cathodic protection.
  • Overcome unique challenges and work with a great team to create solutions that exceed clients' expectations.
  • Gain mentorship from our highly trained operators.
  • Safely perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Safely operate high pressure wands and flexible vacuum hose for excavation needs.
  • Absorb and apply new skills and knowledge to continuously improve performance.
  • Prepare for your day by verifying instructions, reviewing your required tools for the day, and completing required paperwork with accuracy.
  • Exceed client expectations by completing work with professionalism and excellence.

Requirements

  • A positive and motivated self-starter!
  • A curious and independent problem-solver.
  • Comfortable with extensive travel with overnight assignments.
  • Able to successfully pass drug & background screenings.
  • In good standing and can meet Pro-Vac & DOT driving requirements (including having a valid driver’s license).
  • Able to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary, including nights, weekends, and on-call.
  • Can demonstrate high quality professionalism during customer interactions.
  • Can regularly lift 50lbs and complete daily physical activity, in an outdoor setting.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working outdoors and hands-on.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Standing and moving for extended periods.
  • Operating vehicles across varied terrain.
  • Perceiving auditory safety signals, verbal warnings, and radio communications in active field environments.
  • Wearing all required PPE including OSHA-compliant respirators, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves, and safety footwear.
  • Reading site documentation and accurately operating equipment controls.
  • Working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and wet conditions.
  • Maintaining situational awareness around active traffic, heavy machinery, and underground utilities.
  • Working in confined spaces per applicable safety protocols.
