Primary Responsibilities
- Understand how the Laborer interacts with a Carpenter’s role during the tank building process and can direct the work as required
- Establishes crews, assigns responsibilities and follows through on assigned work to meet the budgeted man-hours
- Reads and interprets tank drawings and construction information package to ensure work is performed according to specifications
- Inventories material upon delivery to ensure components comply with the contract drawings prior to signature
- Involved in a daily closeout meeting with the Superintendent providing an update on the day’s activities and needs for the following day
- Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any quality defects immediately
- Checks and confirms elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components
- Follows safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies
- Develops task hazard analysis (THA) and reviews with the crew
- Identifies hazards, takes action to correct them, and is responsible for recognizing those who do the same in accordance with the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program
- Stops employees and subcontractors from performing unsafe acts and working in hazardous conditions
- Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work
- Provides coaching and training while motivating the team to produce quality work and ensure all safety standards are met with all individuals on the project
- Maintains all certifications in compliance with DN Tanks Safety & Equipment Programs
- If designated by Superintendent, signals operator during any construction activities requiring a crane
- Performs all jobsite layout utilizing survey equipment under direction of the Superintendent
- Supports the training program by working closely with other traveling tank builders and utilizing all resources available in DN University
- Provides training feedback to the Superintendent in order to advance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of all our traveling tank builders
Qualifications
- Operate and maintain DN Tanks tools and equipment
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States at the direction of the Field Operations Manager
- Ability to climb and perform tasks at heights on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, shoring, and scaffolds
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.
- Obtain and maintain active Adult First Aid/CPR Certified (American Red Cross Approved)
- Obtain and maintain active OSHA 10 Certification in 30 days (or less) after acceptance or promotion to the Foreman position
- Obtain and maintain active all required DN Tanks certifications (example: forklift, manlift, nail gun, etc.)
- Ability to complete DN Tanks crane certification as a competent signal person
