Traveling Kitchen Assistant
About the role
Sharp Spoon Network is recruiting Traveling Kitchen Assistants for a national leader in disaster response and large-scale culinary operations. Work alongside professional chefs preparing and serving quality meals in high-volume kitchens across the country. We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with at least one year of professional fine-dining experience who are ready to take their kitchen skills on the road.
Compensation & Benefits
- $16/hour plus applicable overtime
- Potential weekly gross earnings of approximately $1,696 during qualifying deployments
- $45 daily per diem during qualifying deployments
- Weekly pay
- Lodging provided during qualifying deployments
- Company-paid travel when applicable
Schedule
- Approximately 30 days on assignment / 14 days off
- Approximately 12-hour shifts during deployments
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with food preparation, portioning, plating, and meal service
- Prepare ingredients and support high-volume breakfast, lunch, and dinner operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workstations
- Support dishwashing, stocking, food storage, and kitchen setup
- Follow food safety procedures and work closely with culinary leadership
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional fine-dining experience
- Hands-on experience with food preparation or kitchen support in a professional kitchen
- Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel nationwide, work approximately 12-hour shifts, and complete 30-day assignments followed by approximately 14 days off
- Willingness to complete required background screening, drug testing, and onboarding
Experience in upscale restaurants, luxury hotels, or fine-dining kitchens is especially relevant. High-volume banquet, catering, or large-scale culinary experience is a plus.
Estimated weekly earnings are illustrative, not guaranteed. Actual pay depends on hours worked, overtime eligibility, and assignment requirements. Per diem, lodging, and travel provisions are subject to eligibility and client requirements. Selected candidates will be employed directly by our client, not Sharp Spoon Network.
