Traveling Fire Alarm Systems Technician
About the Role
This role supports our Southeast Region, serving customers across a multi-state area with targeted locations in Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA. As a Fire Alarm Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. You will serve as the face of Siemens, interacting regularly with customers to ensure their buildings and occupants remain safe.
Successful candidates will be expected to travel up to 75% within the Southeast U.S.
Responsibilities
- Participate in operational testing, verification, and acceptance by running routine reports to review system operation, conducting final inspections and testing, and supporting customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings.
- Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation.
- Conduct project site communication and coordination by supporting scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire and use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
- Capability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Must have or obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I within 12 months.
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
- NICET certified.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $49,195 - $84,334 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
