Traveling Fiber Splicer

Responsibilities

• Developing end-to-end fiber optic networks.
• Testing and troubleshooting the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operating all testing equipment and resolving challenges related to fiber optic networks.
• Prepping fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilizing fusion splicer, test equipment, OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter.
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss.
• Working in outdoor utility construction sites.

Qualifications

• A track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
• A knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoying a hands-on approach to work.
• A flexible attitude and enjoyment of a variety of shifts with overtime.
• At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.

Pay

$32-$36 per hour.

Schedule

Long-term projects and various shifts with overtime opportunities.
