Traveling Electrical Superintendent - Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC)

Position Overview

As an Electrical Superintendent you will play a significant part in the success for Kiewit. You will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman, and/or laborers/craft workers. You will be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, work quality, and safety of the assigned project.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical construction activities on project sites.
• Manage and direct Foremen and craft workers to ensure efficient and productive work processes.
• Plan and schedule work sequences, equipment usage, and manpower to meet project milestones and deadlines.
• Monitor and control project costs, labor productivity, and material usage to stay within budget.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a zero-incident culture.
• Ensure work conforms to project specifications, quality standards, and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, and other trades to resolve conflicts and ensure seamless workflow.
• Review and interpret contract documents, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, and production records.
• Provide technical guidance and training to craft personnel as needed.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in electrical construction, with proven progression to supervisory roles.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, materials, methods, and tools used in heavy industrial or commercial construction.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively direct diverse teams.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and other applicable codes.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as spreadsheets, scheduling software, and document control systems.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of electrical construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Journeyman electrician license or equivalent trade certification preferred.
• Experience in oil, gas, and chemical (OGC) market sector is highly desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or college education in construction management, electrical engineering, or related field is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
