About the role

PDS Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the success of our clinicians through the delivery of the Perfect Patient Experience (PPE), aiming to create a Patient for Life (PFL).

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions in accordance with the applicable state's Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
  • Participate in the PPE by focusing on optimal treatment while addressing patient needs and concerns.
  • Escort patients to/from the front desk and introduce them to other team members as appropriate.
  • Communicate with the front and back office teams to ensure smooth scheduling and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist in providing efficient, quality dental care.
  • Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures as directed by the clinician.
  • Prepare tray setups and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory.
  • Use suction or other devices to keep the patient's mouth dry and clear.
  • Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the clinician.
  • Record patient charting and clinician's notes in the digital patient chart.
  • Support patient care by presenting treatment records, consents, and health histories to the clinician.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Lead Dental Assistant to ensure adequate clinical supplies are available.
  • Utilize technology by learning how to operate and demonstrating its use to others.
  • Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices.
  • Implement the Perfect Patient Experience process to gain Patients for Life.
  • Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as state, federal, and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration.
  • Certificates/Licenses/Registrations as mandated by applicable state.
  • Specialty Dental Assistants must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Preferred one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Respond to inquiries, draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment, interact with other clinicians and doctors, interpret and apply policies and procedures, communicate effectively, handle and maintain extreme confidentiality, organize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Information

$21.75-$30.50 / Hourly
