Traveling Construction Quality Control Manager
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control efforts for a major federal construction project supporting the Texas Military Department in Laredo, TX. The role ensures both design and construction work meet project standards through daily reviews, inspections, and documentation.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all project quality control activities to ensure compliance with specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards.
- Manage and maintain the project’s Quality Control Program.
- Conduct inspections and audits of ongoing construction activities.
- Review design documents, plans, specifications, and submittals for compliance.
- Document quality control activities and maintain required project records.
- Coordinate and lead quality control meetings with stakeholders.
- Identify deficiencies, corrective actions, and quality-related issues.
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Verify testing and inspection activities are completed and documented.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and owners to resolve quality concerns.
- Ensure construction activities meet USACE and federal project quality standards.
- Prepare reports and documentation required by project owners and regulatory agencies.
- Support project closeout activities and final quality verification efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager (QCM) on Federal US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
- At least 2 years of construction experience on comparable commercial or federal projects.
- Experience serving as QCM on vertical construction projects.
- Experience supporting construction projects valued at $50 million or greater.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of federal construction quality standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to review plans, specifications, and construction activities for compliance and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $100,000 – $140,000/year. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
