Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Label containers and complete pre-printed manifests & work orders while adhering to your assigned route.
  • Classify, segregate and inventory waste containers in storage for shipment.
  • Conducts lab pack operations.
  • Pack small laboratory containers of chemical waste into larger containers for shipment.
  • Performs various regulatory Training, compliance and safety tasks including, but not limited to: Pre-trip inspections of vehicle, report all losses, spills, accidents, Leaking Containers, waste diversion and safety violations to supervisor immediately.
  • Professional contact with all levels of Customers daily in delivering, promoting, and collecting waste containers.
  • Regular contact with many different levels of personnel.
  • Overnights Required.
  • Provide services related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal from customer sites.
  • Process and prepare Universal Hazardous Waste manifests, bills of lading and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs) for hazardous waste shipment according to state, EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Performs warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of waste materials.
  • Loads, unloads, moves, or stores items according to delivery or routing documents, or supervisor instructions and performing general housekeeping.
  • Adhere to assigned route via electronic routing system with any deviations escalated to Management.
  • Operates a Hand Truck, Drum Dolly, Pallet Jack & Forklift.
  • Maintain the basic functionality & cleanliness of assigned company vehicle & equipment.
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Basic Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. CDL Class B. DOT HAZMAT Endorsement Basic Computer Skills. Must have the ability to Perform & Maintain all assigned training related to Essential functions. Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong working knowledge of Environmental / Regulatory / DOT rules and regulations. Knowledge on how to use & troubleshoot computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to read a map. Driver E-Log Experience Some College or waste industry experience.
