Traveling Branch Specialist

About the role

Heartland Credit Union is seeking a Traveling Branch Specialist to support the VP of Retail Branch Operations. This position involves overseeing branch operations, ensuring proper member service coverage, and performing various branch-related functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs various branch related functions at various branches as assigned by the VP of Retail Branch Operations.
• Ensures proper frontline member service coverage at retail branch locations by managing traveling teller schedule.
• Manages assignments based on experience and current performance.
• Processes applications for consumer loans, opens new accounts, and assists with financial counseling when video banking is unavailable.
• Conducts outreach calls to members regarding promotions, products, and services.
• Supports all branch operations including teller duties, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cashiers' checks.
• Aids in onboarding new member service staff by providing guidance, training, and coaching.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Provides superior service to members and staff.
• Supports and advances HCU's brand platform.
• Performs all other collection duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A two-year college degree or specialized certification/licensure.
• Thorough knowledge of financial services and products.
• Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with financial institution branch functions, policies, and procedures.
• One to three years of relevant experience.
• Past leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Proven sales and business development skills.
• Well organized and attentive to detail.
• Ability to operate related computer applications and equipment.
• Ability to maintain an effective workflow.
• Valid driver's license.
• To become a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) through CUNA's FiCEP program.
• Stationary for extended periods of time.
• Moves up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
