Responsibilities
- Mission Critical partners with the Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field operations of complex mission critical construction projects.
- Helps ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining schedule and budget objectives.
- Collaborates with the Project Manager and Superintendent to maintain procurement schedules, master project schedules, pull plans, and three-week look-ahead schedules.
- Covers trade sequencing, site logistics, and daily construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time project execution.
- Develops a thorough understanding of project scope, contract requirements, schedules, budgets, and overall project objectives.
- Reviews construction drawings and specifications to identify constructability issues and assists with procurement and subcontractor buyout activities.
- Coordinates submittals, inspections, quality control processes, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with contract documents and project standards.
- Maintains oversight of the installation of mechanical, electrical, and other critical building systems to verify quality, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
- Champions Shawmut's safety culture by conducting routine site inspections, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Tracks subcontractor progress, field changes, RFIs, project documentation, and potential risks while proactively communicating issues and solutions to the project team.
- Aids in managing punch list completion, as-built documentation, warranty turnover, and all project closeout activities.
- Fosters strong working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and Shawmut team members through proactive communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial construction field experience with 1+ years of Mission Critical/Data Center experience.
- Experience supporting projects valued between $1M and $25M.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or commensurate work experience.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as project needs require.
