A Day in the Life of an Assistant Project Manager
As an Assistant Project Manager at First Onsite, you're at the heart of every project, turning plans into action and challenges into solutions. You'll collaborate closely with leadership to evaluate, develop, and execute scopes of work while keeping multiple projects running smoothly.
- Review and approve proposals from subcontractors to perform work within budget
- Prepare project schedule, including job crew and sub-contractors schedule, according to the scope of work
- Manage, support, and assist job crews
- Fill in as needed when additional responsibilities/tasks need to be completed, including physical labor
- Create and maintain job activity paperwork and jobsite inventories
- Maintain a daily log of conditions, activities, communications, and notable events
- Prepare reports, documentation, and other job-related administrative documents
- Proactively monitor and provide updates when there is risk of a project not meeting expected budget, gross profit margin, or schedule
- Manage receipt and approval of change orders
- Arrange for permits, as needed
- Accurately maintain daily reports, daily sign-in timesheets, equipment records, moisture maps, and material sheets
- Manage a defined scope of work and review opportunities for change orders
- Issue work orders to subcontractors and manage their scope of work/change orders
- Perform or ensure execution of daily job site safety meetings
- Perform billing reviews to ensure accuracy of data entered
Responsibilities

Experience & Education
- Relevant leadership experience
- 2+ years of experience in the restoration/construction industry, with experience/knowledge in water, flood, fire, smoke, mold, asbestos, and rebuild remediation
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree preferred
- Valid driver's license required
