Requirements and Preferences for X-Ray Tech Position
- Experience:
- Level 1 Trauma experience is required.
- A minimum of 1-year experience is required.
- Surgery experience is preferred.
- Charting system experience, specifically with Epic, is preferred.
- Community hospital experience is preferred.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- BLS certification is required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required.
- Additional certifications mentioned for Sparrow Hospital ER: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are required.
- Skills:
- Competency in a variety of diagnostic exams, including but not limited to: Abdomen decubitus, Chest routine, Extremity exams (e.g., Ankle, Elbow, Knee), Spine (Cervical, Lumbar, Thoracic), portable procedures, and procedures involving contrast such as Upper GI series.
- Experience working in a fast-paced department is necessary.
- Education:
- All candidates must provide proof of high school level education. This is a strict requirement.
- Additional Preferences:
- Experience working with patient age groups ranging from neonates to geriatrics is preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced department performing diagnostic exams for Emergency Department and inpatient units is highlighted.
