About the role

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology/X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a busy metro teaching hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The facility is an acute care hospital with a Level 3 trauma designation and 317 staffed beds. The X-Ray Tech unit performs imaging using DR rooms, with a varied caseload including portables, ER, and inpatient exams averaging 20 cases per day. Occasional OR/fluoroscopy work is covered by an on-call tech during overnight shifts. Work settings include outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU.

Schedule

  • Night shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM (5x8 hours)
  • 40 hours per week
  • No weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement for this role
  • No floating to sister facilities required

Responsibilities

  • Perform imaging using DR rooms, portable equipment, and C-Arm
  • Handle varied caseload including portables, ER, and inpatient exams
  • Occasional OR/fluoroscopy work (on-call tech covers overnight shifts)
  • Conduct procedures including extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, musculoskeletal, and surgery/C-Arm
  • Perform bedside/portable imaging procedures
  • Prepare and/or administer contrast media (preferred)
  • Use PACS, Epic (Excellian) EMR, and imaging equipment (GE, Siemens, Philips preferred)

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in X-Ray/Radiology specialty
  • ARRT and BLS certification required
  • State license required if applicable (pending license accepted)
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Experience in adult acute care, outpatient, ER, ICU, and OR settings
  • Proficiency in extremities, abdomen/GI, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, musculoskeletal, and surgery/C-Arm procedures
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Must wear blue scrubs

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
  • Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate as needed
  • Return-to-work (RTO) should ideally be no more than 5 days during the assignment
  • Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since last worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
  • Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
  • A minimum of one supervisor reference is required for consideration
