This travel nursing position in New York, NY involves conducting comprehensive health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence-related care. The role includes developing and evaluating care standards, collaborating with the healthcare team, and providing patient and staff education.

Schedule

• Days shift, 7.5 hours per day
• Minimum of 37.5 hours per week
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments with a focus on wound, ostomy, and continence care
• Assess patient response to treatments and document findings
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, making referrals as needed
• Provide patient, family, and staff education on wound management and prevention
• Participate in quality improvement activities and unit/department initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality and data security
• Identify community resources to support patient care
• Manage assets related to rented equipment such as specialty beds and Negative Pressure Devices

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program
• Valid New York State RN License
• Primary Source Verification of License and Registration from NYS Department of Education
• AHA BLS certification
• Current certification in one of the following:
  • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) – Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – WOCNCB
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) – WOCNCB
  • Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) – American Board of Wound Management (ABWM)
  • Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) – National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO)
