About the Role
The primary responsibility of the X-Ray Tech is to obtain useful diagnostic details that help doctors decide on further treatment for patients. This role involves producing x-ray films of parts of the human body for diagnosing medical problems such as cancer or fractures, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams.
- Produce x-ray films of parts of the human body for diagnostic use.
- Instruct patients to undergo appropriate positions to obtain accurate images.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practice guidelines.
- Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner.
- Maintain an environment of excellence focused on timely, compassionate, and quality patient care.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment for staff and customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Completion of a two-year approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
- Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Two years of X-Ray Tech experience preferred, ideally in a critical care setting.
