Travel Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer - $2,203 per week

About the role

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer for a 13‑week travel assignment in Denton, Texas. The position is within a 228‑bed hospital’s ultrasound department, which is staffed by one full‑time and three PRN technologists covering day, evening, and night shifts. The department uses GE ultrasound equipment and the Meditech EMR. The assignment begins November 16, 2026 and runs for 13 weeks.

Schedule

• Three‑day work week: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Shift hours: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (12‑hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week
• On‑call required during the week, potentially 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Possibility to pick up extra shifts
• Must be open to weekend shifts, on‑call, holiday call, and holiday shift coverage

Responsibilities

• Perform pelvic/transvaginal, renal and renal Doppler, abdomen and limited abdomen, first‑trimester pregnancy, testicular, carotid, and upper/lower extremity venous studies
• Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and obstetric studies
• Float within the department and to patient rooms as needed
• Cover on‑call shifts during the week

Requirements

• ARDMS and RVT certification required
• BLS certification required
• State license if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasound/sonography
• Minimum 2 years of travel experience required
• U.S. Social Security Number and date of birth required (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri assignments)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Preferred qualifications

• Paracentesis/thoracentesis experience
• Biopsy and drainage experience
• GE ultrasound equipment experience

• Dark gray scrub attire required
• Candidates must live outside a 50‑mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
