Travel Telemetry RN - $2,185 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Med Surg / Telemetry for an immediate opening in Bakersfield, California. The position starts on 10/26/2026, lasts 13 weeks, requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts, and is a travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Identify irregular telemetry readings and notify appropriate medical team members.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years referenced).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds routinely; patient lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
