About the role

We’re seeking talented healthcare professionals whose adventure game is as strong as their clinical game. This role offers flexibility and high pay for a travel nurse RN Telemetry position in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a float pool covering multiple units, including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs.
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 based on acuity.
• Titrate drips, including Heparin.
• Serve as Charge Nurse when designated; typically does not take a patient assignment unless necessary.
• Float to other acuity levels as needed, including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele across multiple hospitals in the region.
• Adhere to a schedule set by leadership for 6 weeks at a time; flexibility is expected to fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
• Work 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule and may be asked to participate in holiday rotations.
• Rarely required to be on call or standby for low census.

Requirements

• 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Prior neuro experience preferred.
• Experience with Alaris and EPIC preferred.

Unit Details

• Patient Population: Adults-Geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, and stable long-term placement patients.
• Support Staff: Nurse aids available; ratio of 12:1.
• Respiratory Equipment: Vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc.
• Telemetry: Monitor Techs available; RNs read strips.
• Orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor.
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs.
