Responsibilities
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and endoscopes across the unit
- Operate automated endoscope reprocessors (AER) and perform manual cleaning per protocol
- Assemble instrument trays, prepare case carts, and ensure proper labeling and aseptic technique
- Conduct steam sterilization and associated sterilization testing/monitoring; verify sterilization indicators
- Maintain accurate Epic charting for Sterile Processing activities and track instrument flow
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in a central sterile/sterile processing setting
Requirements
- Certification: Certified in sterile processing (CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA or equivalent)
- BLS certification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience; community hospital experience preferred
- Epic experience required
