Travel Stepdown RN - $2,315 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit) for a 13‑week assignment in Hazard, Kentucky. The position requires 42 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience (as indicated).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Skills

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 lb routinely; patient handling may require up to 50 lb.
• Strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
