Travel Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN - $2,289 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Morgantown, West Virginia. The assignment is 13 weeks, 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Immediate opening for a Progressive Care Unit RN with 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when moving patients.
• Good stress‑coping skills.
• Ability to relate to diverse patient populations.
