About the role

The Registered Nurse in this telemetry position will provide specialized care for patients needing cardiac monitoring in a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry patients, managing complex medical needs, and collaborating with healthcare teams to implement care plans that ensure quality patient outcomes.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15); 4x12-hour shifts may also be available. Alternates between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with weekend coverage required every other week.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in a telemetry unit, interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac conditions.
• Administer IV medications, including insulin titration and cardiac drips.
• Manage various medical devices, including feeding tubes, central lines, and ventilation support.
• Maintain appropriate patient care ratios (1:4) while ensuring quality of care.
• Implement wound care and manage other complex patient needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or critical care setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and management of ventilated patients.
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates also welcome.
