Travel Step Down RN - $1,678 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Florence, South Carolina. Specialty: Stepdown; Discipline: RN; Start Date: 10/12/2026; Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, nights; Employment Type: Travel. As a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Travel Nurse, you will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough for ICU care. PCU RNs utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detect changes, and enable intervention in life‑threatening situations. They also handle complex medication administration, equipment adjustments, and provide bedside care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown preferred)

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs when moving or lifting patients.
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Skills

• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and other vital‑sign equipment.
• Medication administration and IV therapy.
• Wound care and catheter insertion.
• Critical observation and rapid response to changing patient conditions.
