Travel Speech Therapist - Acute Care Rehabilitation - $2,890 per week

Job Description

Hilo Medical Center is seeking a Travel Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week contract in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii. The position involves acute inpatient rehabilitation services to adult patients recovering from neurological conditions, stroke, trauma, and other medically complex diagnoses.

Requirements

• Hawaii SLP License required by assignment start
• BLS Required
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
• Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) required
• Acute Rehab, Acute Care, or SNF experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
• Complete and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)
• Develop individualized treatment plans for communication, cognition, and dysphagia
• Treat patients recovering from stroke, neurological disorders, trauma, and other medically complex conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT, OT, dietitians, and case management
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and safe swallowing strategies
• Complete timely documentation and progress reporting
