About the role

American Traveler seeks a full-time Speech Therapist with active state licensure and BLS certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a hospital-based rehabilitation therapy department in Mauston, Wisconsin. This position is ideal for both experienced clinicians and entry-level candidates with no prior experience, including first-time travelers.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to help patients communicate and swallow safely.
• Complete patient documentation including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharge reports.
• Contact insurance companies regarding patient benefits.
• Provide education to nursing, physician, dietary, and food service staff on evaluation results and evidence-based recommendations.
• Develop in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Assist patients and families with hospital navigation.
• Perform routine tasks such as treatment room cleaning and patient reminder calls.

Requirements

• Current and active state Speech-Language Pathology license (if applicable).
• Current BLS certification.

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm.
• 8-hour shifts, days.
• 13-week assignment starting November 2, 2026.
