About the role
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders across diverse patient populations. They develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust therapies as needed. The SLP collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and educates patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices. They maintain detailed documentation, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments using standardized tests and clinical observations
- Design and implement individualized therapy programs
- Assess and document patient progress accurately
- Educate patients and caregivers on communication and swallowing techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe, infection-controlled environment
- Engage in quality assurance and professional growth activities
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current BLS certification
- Master’s Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred)
- Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Physical ability to perform required tasks, including moving equipment and maintaining safety standards
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel and handle high-pressure situations
