About the role
Work directly with patients to evaluate and treat issues with communication and swallowing.
Expert knowledge of speech sounds, language development, fluency management, and dysphagia are required.
Must have great communication skills, including an aptitude for working with patients one-on-one.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing issues.
- Provide therapy sessions to improve speech and language skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Document patient progress and communicate with families and referring physicians.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Alaska.
- At least two years of recent, relevant clinical experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Passing score on the Praxis II exam.
- Knowledge of dysphagia assessment and treatment techniques.
- Experience with teletherapy platforms.
Skills
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer software for documentation and record-keeping.
