About the role
American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a 13-week acute care assignment working primarily with a pediatric outpatient population on a Monday–Friday day schedule with no weekends or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting with primary focus on outpatient speech-language pathology services
- Occasional inpatient coverage may be required in addition to outpatient duties
- Primarily pediatric patient population with diagnoses including language/speech delay, autism, Down syndrome, and articulation/phonological disorders
- Daily patient caseload varies
- Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–5:00pm or as patients are scheduled
- 8-hour shifts with no weekend or holiday requirements
- Epic EMR used in this position
Requirements
- Master's degree (MA or MS) in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active Nebraska SLP license or valid temporary Nebraska SLP license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an SLPA or SLP required
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Medication Aide certification preferred
Qualifications
Works within a rehabilitation department under a Physical Therapist as Department Director, with one additional SLP on duty
Rehab aides are available to support the department
Department-specific orientation details will be discussed during the interview process
Dress code consists of a polo top with scrubs or jogger-style activewear bottoms
CPR certification (included under BLS) must be maintained throughout the assignment
Skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation team members and support staff

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined
