About the role

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2+ years of experience for a 13-week inpatient acute care assignment in Evergreen Park, Illinois. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with 8-hour day shifts and 40 guaranteed hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients to restore or develop swallowing, speech, and communication functions
  • Administer and evaluate standardized speech/language tests and conduct swallowing evaluations
  • Develop treatment plans and monitor patient progress
  • Manage an average caseload of 10-14 patients per day, with 6-8 visits per day
  • Perform VFSS swallow studies (MBSImP certification a plus, though not required)
  • Complete 12 hours of non-billable orientation
  • Document using EPIC EMR

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
  • Must pass a negative drug screen (facility is a Drug-Free Campus)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills (proficiency with Microsoft software)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Inpatient acute care hospital setting
  • 100% adult patient population with no pediatric caseload
  • FEES not used at this facility
  • Local candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate
  • No radius rule restricting eligibility for this position
  • COVID vaccination is not required for this facility
